I first created WilliamHaun.com in desperation. It was 2002, we had just moved to Florida and I could not find a web development job to save my life. I was sending resumes out daily but not getting much response and had taken a job at Target as a sales rep to make ends meet. In October of 2002, I finally got a response from St. Petersburg College and was asked to come in for an interview. They wanted to see a web portfolio of my work – something I didn’t have. Over the next 5 days I worked non-stop creating a website to showcase my programming and art.
The story has a happy ending for me – I was hired by SPC. It has a sad ending for WilliamHaun.com. Rarely updated and never given it a new look, it has been stagnant for 4 years.
I’m now on paternity leave after the birth of my son and I plan to work on redesigning the entire site. My goal is to showcase not only my more recent work, but the web programming and design skills I have acquired and improved over the last 4 years.
