As in the past with the darkroom techniques, successful digital photography relies a lot post-production work. My weapon of choice is Adobe Lightroom. Today I took some photos of a caterpillar on our cherry blossom tree out front. I really liked the composition of the image below but my exposure was way off. A few minutes in Lightroom and I was able to not just fix the photograph but enhance it by slightly coloring the background. See for yourself the difference below:
