Fort Loudoun dates back over 250 years to the French and Indian War. I visited it this week with my son on a cold and overcast day in East Tennessee. I took some of the photographs I made and decided to give them an old, rustic look – much like the abandoned fort itself.
My inspiration for this series of images comes from a book my uncle gave me called “The Art of the American Snapshot, 1888-1978“. The book is based on an exhibit he saw in DC at the National Gallery of Art and is full of all styles and formats of photos taken by anonymous photographers throughout the ages.
