Littlest Sounds Compilations

My friends who run the record label Littlest Sounds have undertaken a pretty impressive task. Starting in March, they began releasing monthly compilations each with 30+ tracks. The compilations have featured tons of incredible musicians – some better known (like Jens Lekman, Modern Skirts, Gold Panda, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., The Lonely Forest) and others that deserved to be known (like Valley Maker, The Lovely Few, Germany Germany, and tons more).

I was commissioned to design the art for these digital release comps and have made three so far. It’s been fun creating a series that is tied to a running visual theme. I’m looking forward to making plenty more!

MySpace Design & Promo Vid for Commerce

Johnson City, TN band COMMERCE is starting to make waves in the indie scene with recent rave reviews of their 2009 album “What Happens Now” (Blurt, Absolute Punk, Alternative Press). They already have a follow-up mini-album recorded and plan to release it on CD early this summer. For those that can’t wait to hear “The Things I Say vs. The Things I Mean”, the band is streaming all 6 new tracks from their web site.

I helped the band re-style their MySpace profile page to match the upcoming album art (by Mike Lowery) and I created a short 30 second video promo/teaser for the new release like the ones I did for them last year. Commerce CD Release Party Flyer

Commerce EP Re-Issued Digitally

Commerce‘s EP “Means Never Having To Say You’re Sorry” was recorded over 5 years ago and has just been re-released digitally on iTunes. I designed the album art for this new digital release and the floating body in the image is none other than my brother-in-law Kenny Jensen.

New COMMERCE Album Out

The newest project from the Johnson City, TN based band Commerce is out. Several months ago I was asked to contribute photos for the album art. I settled upon two photos I took on our family’s visit to Sapelo Island Estuarine Research Reserve back in March (more photos from that trip). Illustrator Mike Lowery designed the packaging and added his great hand-written typography to my photos.

New Commerce Music Videos Mini-Site

I’ve recently completed a project that has been in the works for some time. The music videos and behind-the-scenes documentaries that I shot for Commerce have been finished and compiled into both DVDs and enhanced CDs. I’ve taken the enhanced Flash content from the CDs and created a mini-site which you can now view online at http://commerce.williamhaun.com/.

The music is all written by Matt Little of Johnson City, TN and the illustrations through out the site are by Mike Lowery.

New Commerce Video now online

I’ve wrapped up editing the music video I shot last December and have posted it online. Matt (lead singer & snowman) will be pressing CDs in the coming weeks and this video will be on the DVD with 2 other music videos, 3 behind-the-scenes features, and 2 alternate versions.

Martin Day One

The wedding of Ed Martin and Katie MacPherson in Bowie, Maryland.

This is another wedding I shot for a close friend. The events in the video do not follow a chronological order, but are a “best of” medley that covers the entire wedding event from rehearsal to reception.

This was my first try at a movie with a score. Matt Little sent me several songs of his and I remixed, rearranged, and sampled instrumental parts from them to create a score for the entire video (except the ending credits song by Continuo). The result is music that gives a consistent feel to the video – transitions are smooth and the entire thing flows well.
