I’ve done several wedding videos but never been an official photographer for a wedding. I’ve always been scared of the enormous pressure involved. If you screw up, you’ve ruined that very important memento of the most important day of their lives.

So when Chuck White asked me to photograph his wedding I said no. I don’t mind taking photos at a wedding (like I did for the Andersons last year) but I’m not good at formal, posed photos and didn’t want the pressure. Chuck assured me their wedding was very laid-back and informal. He promised that there was no pressure at all so I said yes.

I was still nervous while taking photos during the wedding and my fears were amplified by the extremely poor lighting conditions. Making me feel better however were the fact that there were 3 other folks there taking photos with good cameras. I figured even if I screwed it all up, Chuck would get decent images from them.

You can see a gallery of the images I took at http://whitewedding.williamhaun.com/

The wedding of Ed Martin and Katie MacPherson in Bowie, Maryland.

This is another wedding I shot for a close friend. The events in the video do not follow a chronological order, but are a “best of” medley that covers the entire wedding event from rehearsal to reception.

This was my first try at a movie with a score. Matt Little sent me several songs of his and I remixed, rearranged, and sampled instrumental parts from them to create a score for the entire video (except the ending credits song by Continuo). The result is music that gives a consistent feel to the video – transitions are smooth and the entire thing flows well.

I only started filming because we were early to the wedding and I figured I’d practice for the McBride wedding which was coming up. Ended up with enough coverage and good footage that I edited the video for them as a wedding present.

This video is a split-screen photo slideshow of William and Heidi Haun’s childhoods, their college years, and their wedding. It was created for family and friends shortly after their marriage.

Wedding slideshows tend to be low-quality, cheesy presentations full of unnecessary transitions and effects. This was my attempt at the “art of wedding slideshows.” The music is very laid back and the only effects are slow zooms in and out of the images.

I started editing this on my old 333mhz computer and it just didn’t work. Rendering took ages and I didn’t finish it in time for the wedding. So I completed the project after the wedding and actually added photos of the wedding and ended it with the shot of me crossing over the center line to Heidi at sunset as line disappears.
