WILLIAMHAUN

Short film features a sport played in Southern France. The object of the game is for a team of young men to pull bells from the horns of an angry bull. The film’s visuals follow the minimal repetition of Reich’s music and slowly builds and evolves from the men & bulls to children and finally animated gesture drawings of them.

This film premiered at Sola Creo, an art exhibition in St. Petersburg, Florida. My wife did hundreds of gesture drawings which Rachel Kang (a colleague’s daughter) colored and I animated. The final piece flows beautifully with Reich’s music from “Electric Counterpoint”.
